Mode of selection

Regular Diploma Courses

Selection of eligible candidates for the courses in the Polytechnic Colleges and Special Institutions will be made based on the total marks secured in the qualifying examination and the ranking will be done in the order of total marks secured by the candidates in the SSLC/Equivalent examination following communal reservation. In respect of candidates whose maximum marks in the qualifying examination more than 500 as per scheme, the maximum marks shall be reduced to a base of 500 and rank arrived at along with other candidates.

Sandwich Courses

For 50% seats in the Sandwich Diploma Courses the selection will be done based on the total marks secured in the qualifying examination as for the regular courses following merit and communal reservation.

For the remaining 50% seats in the Sandwich Diploma Courses the eligible candidates sponsored by the approved industries will be admitted.

The list of industries which are participating in the Inplant Training etc., are alone eligible to sponsor candidates.

Sandwich courses will extend for a period for

3 & 1/2 year (7 semesters). Candidates admitted to sandwich courses will attend the Institution study as well as Inplant Training in one of the connected industries.

These candidates should satisfy the rules relating to eligibility rules prescribed.
